Exporting from FCP so you can burn the file to a DVD-R:
1. Go to File, then Export, then Using QuickTime Movie,
2. Make sure settings is set to Current Settings,
3. Make sure Format at the bottom of the save box indicates “Make Movie self contained,“
4. Name the file and select the location where it will be saved – save it,
5. You can now burn the file to a DVD-R.
Exporting from FCP so you can upload to the web:
1. Go to File, then Export, then Using QuickTime Conversion,
2. Make sure Format at the bottom of the save box indicates “QuickTime Movie,“
3. Under the Use option, select “Broadband- High,”
4. Then click on Option button,
5. In the new window – Movie Settings – click on the Size button,
6. In the new window – Export Size Settings – change the size to 400 x 300, and click on OK.
7. Name the file and select a save location. This may take a little longer than the default setting save time.
3. Click on save, and make sure you are saving it to your USB drive or another external drive.
UPLOADING TO A HOSTING SITE:
1. Upload audio (or video) to your hosting site (YouTube or Blip.TV or Vimeo.com),
2. If you are using Blip.TV, follow the instructions to share the video (share and distribution). Blip allows you to share your from Blip, by linking/cross-posting to your WordPress account.
3. If you are using another hosting site then:
a) Copy the URL of audio (or video) once it’s uploaded,
b) Create a new post on WordPress (ensure that you name the post with your project name),
c) Copy the URL from hosting site, and past into the new post,
d) Publish the post.
4. If you use the standard WordPress “add media” tab you will get message that says it will only accept “jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt…” file formats.
